Venus double faulted twice then hit a forehand down the line long to go out of the tournament.

in a match full of power tennis. Williams did not lose a match all week in the round robin format and on Monday saw her WTA Tour ranking rise from
11 to 7 as she returned to the top ten for the first time in four years.
Venus Williams Loses At Toronto
08.09.2015 Monday at Toronto in the Rogers Cup, Venus Williams had a slow start and was not able to recover against Sabine Lisicki of Germany as she
lost 6-0, 6-3. Too many early errors combined with Lisicki's powerful forehand and serve put Venus down a set. Venus played better in set two but it
was too late as she lost serve again to end the match with a few too man errors. Venus plays next week in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Venus Williams' Opener A Difficult One
08.09.2015 Monday in the first round of the Rogers Cup, Venus Williams faces a very difficult opponent, the hard serving Sabine Lisicki of Germany in a
night match. Lisicki has the fastest serve on the WTA Tour and is a former Wimbledon finalist so this could be a tough match for Venus.
Also of note is
that Venus is defending 585 WTA computer rankings points from making the final at this tournament last year. Venus will need to do well this week or
next week in Cincinnatti in order to keep a ranking of 16 or above to get a 16 or above seeding at the US Open which begins at the end of this month.
