08.29.2007 NEW YORK-- Venus Williams jumped off to a 3-0 lead before losing serve in set one and beating Ioana Raluca Olaru 6-4, 6-2 today. In the third
round Friday Venus plays 21st ranked Alona Bondarenko of the Ukraine. Venus has never played Bondarenko before. Bondarenko today beat a
very tough player Eleni Daniilidou and has gotten to several quarterfinals this year on the WTA Tour so Venus will have to be ready to play well in order to win.
"I definitely feel like I'm on a roll," Williams said. "I feel like when I need the points I get them."

Venus Williams Wins, Serves 129MPH Record Serve
08.28.2007 NEW YORK-- Venus Williams powered into the US Open round two Monday night defeating Hungarian qualifier Kira Nagy 6-2 6-1 in
the first round. Williams broke her own record with a 129mph serve and next faces Ioana Raluca Olaru most likely
Wednesday. Venus leads Olaru head to head 1-0, winning 6-3, 6-2 in Memphis this winter. Williams should outhit the 84th ranked Romanian.

Venus Williams Plays US Open Monday Night
08.26.2007 NEW YORK-- Venus Williams opens play tomorrow night at the US Open at 6pm CST USA wearing her new EleVen label. In round
one she meets qualifier Kira Nagy of Hungary. Nagy is 29 and has won several lower level ITF tournaments this year and in past years, but has
not had much success on the WTA Tour otherwise. Venus has never played Nagy previously, who has never won a grand slam match before.

Venus Williams Enters Seoul, Korea WTA Tournament
08.18.2007 SEOUL-- Venus Williams has entered the Hansol Korea Open, a Tier IV WTA Tour tournament to be played in Seoul, Korea the week
of September 24th. Williams beat Maria Sharapova at Seoul in an exhibition in 2005 in her only other trip
to Seoul.

because of tendonitis in her right knee. "I'm at the end of my rope now," Venus said last week in San Diego. "I should have planned

Diehard Venus Williams fans may remember Venus playing this event way back in 1997. The reasons for Williams' withdrawal from Toronto were
not immediately available, but Venus was not moving well in the third set in her last San Diego match. Fatigue or a hamstring injury may be to
