Venus Williams Almost Into Madrid
10.20.2007 MADRID-- Venus Williams has almost qualified for the WTA Tour's top eight woman Year End Championships to be played
the week of November 5th in Madrid, Spain. Williams is seventh in the points race with 2470 points. Venus' sister
Serena Williams has already qualified which means should Venus make it also,
we could see the first Williams vs Williams of 2007.
Pennetta Surprises Venus At Bangkok
10.13.2007 BANGKOK-- The Tennis Channel did not televise Venus' semfinal loss to Flavia Pennetta 6-4, 7-6(10-8) today, but I'm hearing Venus
made too many errors and the court played slowly. Also Pennetta supossedly ran down a lot of balls. The good news is Venus probably got enough
points from playing the last three weeks to qualify for the upcoming WTA year end championships in Madrid.

Venus Williams Reaches Bangkok Semis
10.12.2007 BANGKOK-- Venus Williams today in the quarterfinals Venus defeated Camille Pin 6-1, 6-1 and takes on 7th seeded Flavia
Pennetta of Italy
Saturday in the semifinals. Williams leads Pennetta head to head 1-0, last winning 6-2, 6-2 in Seoul two weeks a
Pennetta is ranked 49th and lives in Verbier, Switzerland. I don't think she has the weapons to take Venus out tomorrow.
Our pick: Venus Williams in straight sets.
Venus Williams Into Bangkok Quarters
10.11.2007 BANGKOK-- Venus Williams started off today around 3am CST USA at 4-1 in set two against Caroline Wozniacki and finshed the match
6-2, 6-2. Then around 6am CST USA, Williams defeated Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-4, 6-1. Friday in the quarterfinals Venus plays Camille Pin of France who
is ranked 85 and is 25-26 this year.
Venus has never played Pin before.
Our pick: Venus Williams in straight sets.
Venus' Match Suspended By Rain
10.10.2007 BANGKOK-- Venus Williams led Caroline Wozniacki today 6-2, 4-1 when rain caused the suspension of the match. The match
is scheduled to
be finished Thursday at a yet to be announced time. Williams could also be forced to play her second round match Thursday as well.
Venus Opens In Bangkok Wednesday
10.09.2007 BANGKOK-- Venus Williams this week is playing the PTT Bangkok Open and takes on Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark Wednesday
in the first round at 6:00pm Bangkok time. Head to head Venus leads Caroline 2-0, winning last week at the Japan Open 6-3, 7-5. If Venus' thigh is better
and she keeps her error count low, I think she should win.
Our pick: Venus Williams in straight sets.
With Yet Another Injury, Venus Loses
10.06.2007 TOKYO-- It seems now Venus Williams is almost always injured including tonight's(USA time) Tokyo final loss to Virginie Razzano 4-6,
7-6(9-7), 6-4. Venus had three matchpoints in the tiebreaker before leaving to court to have her upper right thigh wrapped. Two good points still to take
away from the match: I discovered and watched the match when seeing that the Tennis Channel was showing it live from the middle of set
two. Point two is that playing Tokyo put Venus closer to a spot at the year end eight player tournament at Madrid.

Venus Williams Reaches Tokyo Final
10.05.2007 TOKYO-- Venus Williams Friday defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinals to move into Saturday's final versus 5th seeded
Virginie Razzano of France. Williams fought back from 2-4 in set two to oust Wozniacki. Head to head Williams leads Razzano 2-0, last winning
this summer at San Diego 6-2, 6-4. Razzano is moving up the rankings and I think she could take a set if Venus makes errors, but Venus should
win the match.
Our Pick: Venus Williams in straight sets.
Venus Williams Into Tokyo Semifinals
10.04.2007 TOKYO-- Venus Williams this week has won three straight set matches to advance to tonight's (USA time) semifinals versus Caroline
Wozniacki of Denmark. Head to head Venus leads 1-0, winning in Memphis this year 6-4, 6-4. Caroline is only 17 and I think she will be outplayed.
I saw the Memphis match however and it was close so Venus will need to be ready.
Our Pick: Venus Williams in straight sets.
