Venus Scheduled To Return To Tennis In Rome
04.09.2008 AMELIA ISLAND-- Venus Williams' agent today announced that Venus will miss next week's WTA Tour stop at Charleston, but is
scheduled to play the Italian Open, played in Rome, the week of May 12th. "This is not a hiatus. This is not a break from the tour,"
Williams' agent, Carlos Fleming, said via telephone.
"This was a limited window where she could get these evaluations before the three major tournaments and Olympics this summer. Venus
has assured me that there’s no serious medical problem," Fleming said. "But she did see this timing as a good opportunity
to have these evaluations to make sure that her health is in order."
