OK. The last two days I wrote, in my opinion, long essays. Today I will try and keep it
short and simple, but that hardly ever happens.
This morning all the players went to visit Moscow's City Hall and Moscow's Mayor. He
was very hospitable and he was very proud of Moscow's major sporting event, The Kremlin
Cup. He seemed very enthusiastic about Moscow, it's history, it's future and all it's
potential. A plate celebrating Moscow's 850th Anniversary (celebrated this September)
was given to each player in attendence. That's all I have to say about that. Oh yeah,
also, in the City Hall building, which is about 100 years old (quite a grand building)
there were two authentic bear rugs. One with the head, one without the head. Very
Russian.
Right now I am just hanging around the tournament site. It is 3:30pm, my court is at
6:30. I have a long wait. I'll just watch some matches. Right now Anke Huber is playing
Dominic Van Roost on Center Court. Helena Sukova is playing Marijana Lucic on Court 1.
It is snowing here in Russia. I have never been in snow before. I have lived in California
and Florida, both sunny places. I am finished writing now. I cannot think of anything
else interesting to write. If I do, I'll write later. I think I'll take a nap.
